“You Set The Scene” is a multi-media showcase celebrating many talented local artists.
You Set the Scene features:
Photography by Breanna Conley and Adam Fargason
Visual arts by Evan Gilbert, Michela Maxwell, Melissa Yeates, and Melissa Browne
Readings by McSweeny’s contributor Laura Hendrix and Anthony D Mack
Stand-up comedy act from Hank Lazard
Performance art / improvised music piece from Rev. Jack Ladybird and Hightower
with buffer music provided by producers Urbandy and MackONE
You Set the Scene will be held at:
Greencup Books
105 Richard Arrington Jr. Blvd. South
5 PM – Doors open,
7 PM – Readings
8 PM – Hank Lazard
9 PM – Rev. Jack Ladybird and Hightower
Cost – FREE! But donations will be greatly appreciated. All donations will go to Cigar Box Home Library and Greencup Books and will help us to further provide shows like this in the future.
Who is Cigar Box Home Library? CBHL is a charitable organization that is dedicated to helping local artists get their voice heard through innovative means of production, distribution, and promotion. CBHL is working toward promoting a periodic showcase of Central Alabama bands, artists, writers, and performers, some of which do not have the money, time, or power to get their art seen or heard.
